Dr. Vicki Thayer, executive director of the Winn Feline Foundation, is just fine if you take the day off on October 21 for Cures 4 Cats Day. That’s what she tells me HERE on my national Steve Dale’s Pet World radio show.
The idea is to pay attention to your cat and support cat health studies so your veterinarian can keep your cat(s) as healthy as possible.
The Winn Feline Foundation is celebrating 50 years of funding cat health studies worldwide. Much of what we know about cats was once funded by Winn, from today’s treatment for diabetes (different than what it was about five years ago), to vaccines cats receive, to understanding the diseases they get those vaccines for, to when we should spay or neuter kittens, to decreasing ringworm in catteries and shelters, and more. The list goes on and on. In celebration of five decades, you can download a free book: 50 Years of Advancing Feline Medicine: Helping Every Cat Every Day.
Meanwhile, Dr. Thayer says celebrate Cures 4 Cats!
