If I wasn’t out of the country, I would be at this Chicago Animal Care & Control annual event, as I have been for several years. If you can’t attend, you can help out by Fostering (contact Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control), or volunteering. Note the involvement, in this instance, of Animal Care League and Anti Cruelty, but partnerships such as these are working, thanks to executive director Susan Russell (and her staff) who helps to facilitate other groups, rescues and animal shelters working Together with CACC. Working together is the only way to achieve and promote adoptions.
CHICAGO ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL TO HOST A HOLIDAY ADOPTION EVENT SATURDAY
Help a Shelter Animal Find its Forever Home on December 17
Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) is teaming up with the Animal Care League (ACL) to host a “Home for the Holidays” adoption event on Saturday, December 17!
Adoptable pets will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Animal Care League Adoption Center and Training Facility, 1011 Garfield St. in Oak Park, Illinois. The shelter will be filled with over 100 Animal Care League and Animal Care and Control adoptable pets!
CACC partners The Anti-Cruelty Society provided spay/neuter for the cats and Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control assisted with spay/neuter services for the dogs.
“We are excited about this collaboration across multiple organizations to help more animals find homes this holiday season,” CACC Executive Director Susan Russell said.
Many animals will have waived or reduced adoption fees at the event, which includes spay/neuter, immunizations, heartworm test for dogs, virus tests for cats and microchips.
