UPDATE: DOGS HAVE BEEN RECOVERED AND ARE APPARENTLY FINE
What kind of person does this? If there is a car stolen, and there happens to be a dog or two inside, that’s terrible but the thief may not have been aware until he makes his get-a-way. But when there are 14 dogs inside, it’s no accident.
Dog handlers do travel with many dogs, Tony Carter is a dog handler. He stopped at an In and Out Burger in Redding, CA. And was gone for moments, when someone took off with his vehicle and the dogs inside it.
And in desperation this is a part of his original Facebook post:

I am absolutely not blaming anyone except the thief. Having said that, in today’s society leaving anything of value in a car and in sight is risky. That’s a sad statement to make about our society but true. The concern is that the thief may try to sell the dogs online on Craigslist or even through unaware rescues.
Most important is the outcome for these dogs.
There is reportedly one a Flat Coated Retriever, Rottweiler, Labrador Retriever (yellow), Cane Corso, Miniature Australian Shepherd (North American Shepherd), Standard Manchester Terrier; two Chinese Crested dogs and two rat terriers, and three Buhunds.
I rarely ask people outrightly to share posts – but this crime is so egregious. While I hope the perpetrator is found, I mostly seek for a good outcome for the stolen dogs. Who knows what this person’s motive was.
