A Valentine for the Hearts of All Cats

In 2002, I lost a friend…one of my best friends ever – Ricky, my cat. He died of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). It’s a very common cause of death in cats. Too common.

Ricky was quite talented, truly illustrating cats can rock ‘n roll too. He was socialized and went places with me, and enjoyed performing.

So, I’m not alone, my colleague, pet writer and artist Bernadette Kazmarski blogged beautifully about her cat, Namir – he also succumbed to HCM. .I hope you consider giving from your cat for the hearts of all cats, the Ricky Fund, at the Winn Feline Foundation.

Bernadette Kazmarski’s cat Namir. Let’s build the Ricky fund, so Namir and countless other cats didn’t die of HCM in vain.
