Adopt Pluto on WGN Radio with Steve Cochran

It seems Pluto, a Shih Tzu-mix,  is the perfect name for this amiable little dog. Pluto was pulled from Chicago Animal Care and Control by One Tail at a Time and delivered to a foster family. Foster families are quite heroic giving all animals a more comfortable place to be than a shelter. Even the best shelters are filled with fear pheromones animals can sense, and are typically pretty loud.

Pluto

Pluto is thought to be around 2-years old and tips the scale at 15 lbs.

On Wednesday, June 26 at about 9:10 AM CDT, I will appear on the Steve Cochran Show, on WGN Radio (listen at 720 AM or online HERE or on TV on CLTV) as Cara Schwalbach, One Tail Development Director, and I attempt to find a forever home for Pluto.

And we’ll also discuss lots that’s new at One Tail at a Time:
The big announcement – and it’s really big – is that One Tail at a Time has announced a 2-phase capital campaign (OTAT Cooperative) that will add four new facilities to their thriving adoption center in Bucktown.

Also, on the first Wednesday of each month is One Tail’s Little Tails Story Club at One Tail at a Time’s Adoption Center, 2144 North Wood Street, Chicago, 10:30 AM. A One Tail at a Time volunteer will read an interactive story that inspires compassion and empathy toward all living things. Afterwards, your child will be able to pet and interact with a sweet, loving rescue pup and participate in a special activity like coloring or a game! There is no required fee to attend story time but donations are always welcome. Each child is encouraged to bring an item indicated on the shelter’s wish-list!

Fireworks and Pets

I will also discuss how to minimize fear of fireworks over July 4th with Steve Cochran. Here’s a guide to how to desensitize and counter-condition, and a listing of some available products which may also minimize fear.
