Record heat isn’t doing our dogs any favors. She says the overwhelming majority of cases of heat stroke are avoidable. If you are hot, it’s a sure thing that your dog is far hotter. Dr. Carlson offers signs of heat stroke to watch out for.

And indeed dogs do die in hot cars. Sometimes, just better to leave the dog home.
