Bark in the Park, Officially Begins Summer in Chicago


Bark in the Park benefits the Anti Cruelty Society; you and your dog can officially celebrate the ‘right of summer ‘season on Saturday May 3 at 9 a.m. at Montrose Harbor in Lincoln Park with thousands of dogs.  It’s a great way to help celebrate the 20th Bark in the Park – 20 years of supporting Chicago’s oldest animal shelter….From Channel 7 (WLS-TV),Hosea Sanders and Roz Varon will co-host and broadcast live, emcees also include myself and radio dude Bart Shore of WBBM-Radio.

There’s a run (for those who will run without dogs), and there’s the 5K walk for people and their canine companions.

Activities include  a dog obstacle course; Denise Zak pet psychic; pet massages, dog tattoos, pawdicures, souvenir photo booth; product samples from sponsors; free snacks, contests, 50/50 cash raffle, face-painting and fun for the kids. The Canine Grand Marshall will be Noodles the Wonder Dog!

Noodles is a 5-year-old mixed breed dog adopted from the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago in the summer of 2009 (at the age of about 7 months old). Noodles holds a Canine Good Citizen certification, and is a Therapy Dog certified through Therapy Dogs International. He performs dozens of different tricks, and he has appeared on television (Windy City Live), on a national television commercial, performed in live theatre performances (Second City, Bailiwick Theatre, Gorilla Tango Theatre, Strawdog Theatre, Purina Farms, etc.) and has won multiple talent/trick competitions in the U.S. and in Canada.  He also regularly performs at nursing homes, retirement communities and libraries.
