Cat Walk, Stray Cat Strut: Tree House Humane Society

Share

Stay Cat Strut for the Tree House Humane Society in June 14, offering cat lovers a chance to support homeless cats merely with a pleasant walk along Chicago’s lakefront. And if you’re going to walk in the park, of course, you can bring your dog(s). At least if your dog is friendly to other people and other dogs.  You can also bring your cat – not so sure that is the best idea.

The annual strut kicks off at 2 p.m. I am the official “Strut Grand Marshall.” Not so sure what that means – but I am official, that’s all i care about.

Please come out and say ‘hi.’ And support the Tree House mission This walk honors Max Poncho and Jax Honcho! These bonded brothers live on the first floor of our Uptown headquarters for monitoring due to cerebellar hypoplasia- a neurological disorder that impairs balance and coordination. Few shelters take in cats with special needs – if they aren’t adopted – which is unlikely (though they do need some special owners), they can live happily at Tree House. It’s what Tree House does But then no shelter can do what they do without support. And talking a walk (perhaps with the dog) is an fun and healthy way to support.

The route is 5K (3.1 miles) and starts at our Uptown Headquarters (1212 W. Carmen). We’ll then head East Lake and finish back at our Headquarters for a post-walk celebration (including a cookout, snacks, entertainment, and goodies) as well as an open house for you to visit our resident cats.

Parking is available at Winona and Broadway (5083 N. Broadway).
