A dog owner whose seven-year-old Yellow Labrador mix escaped from the owner’s backyard was picked up by the city. That’s fine – that is supposed to happen. But the dog isn’t supposed to die, and if the worst happens the family should know.
I won’t comment on Chicago’s Animal Care and Control – this story by Chicago Sun Times story City Hall Reporter Fran Spielman says a lot. It’s very sad…but it gets far worse:

From all accounts I receive, the situation there today, FAR worse. That would be a shame….actually tragic.
