Dog Friendly Chicago

Listen HERE to an overview of dog friendly Chicago from Roz Varon of WLS-TV from Steve Dale’s Pet World, WGN Radio.

And watch the TV segment I joined Roz on:

Menu for dogs at The Perch

I point out in this segment with Roz that I am the one who called the Chicago White Sox with the idea I had for inviting dogs to what was then Comisky Park. Sorry, Tony LaRussa, I began this event with the White Sox before he did something similar with a focus on pet adoption for the St. Louis Cardinals (the team he was managing at the time).

Radio guests include Grace Fuller, general manager at City Cruises Chicago. She explains your dog can ride on the appropriately named Sea Dog (found on the South side of Navy Pier), and dogs ride free. Also, Navy Pier itself is dog friendly. You stroll around with your best friend with four legs, and all restaurants with outdoor space welcome dogs and you can even take a pup to watch an outdoor movie there.

4 Star Restaurant Group Manager Makenzie Monostro of The Perch Kitchen and Tap discusses their unique dog-friendly menu which includes their famous Hefe-Woof-Zen beer for dogs, and lots of space for canines on their covered patio.

MonDog Dog Beach (Montrose Dog Beach) is likely the largest do beach or at least the busiest in America.
