The European Pet Food Industry (FEDIAF) released their European dog data with the nations with the most dogs for 2019.
Russia leads the way with the largest in Europe in 2019 with 16,800,000 dogs. Germany has the second largest population at 10,100,000. The United Kingdom is at the third largest number of dogs at nine million.
Other nations from the report with dog populations over one million:
- France – 7,600,000
- Italy – 7,011,000
- Spain – 6,733,000
- Romania – 4,150,000
- Hungary – 2,050,000
- Portugal – 2,050,000
- Czech Republic – 2,000,000
- Netherlands – 1,690,000
- Belgium – 1,320,000
- Turkey – 1,200,000
