Great American Dog Writer Exits Stage Left

Mordecai Siegal passed away April 1. He was the most influential and prolific pet writer, authoring many top selling pet books.
Here’s the tribute piece I just wrote about Mordecai Siegal’s career for my Tribune Media Services column. Morty authored 38 columns for Good News for Pets, and Lea-Ann Germinder has made those available.
I also posted a personal note about Morty’s passing on my Blog with comments from friends and colleagues, including Matthew Margolis his partner for 10 books; and Ranny Green, a past president of the Dog Writer’s Association of America.
With gratitude to the enormously talented photographer Mary Bloom, I hope you enjoy this photo gallery featuring my ‘Uncle Morty.’
