Gwen Cooper Loves Saves the Day, Saves Cats

Love Saves the Day, how can anyone argue with that? Well, perhaps a cynical New Yorker, like the kind Gwen Cooper writes about her latest book, a novel which takes place in the Big Apple circa the disco era. The book’s title has several meanings, including a reference to a New York City East Village vintage store, the place where Madonna in the movie ‘Desperately Seeking Susan,’ traded her jacket for a pair of boots to set the movie in motion.

You may know Cooper’s name from her previous best selling book about a blind cat named Homer, called “Homer’s Odyssey.”

Homer is still alive – and she’ll offer an update on my radio show, Steve Dale’s Pet World on WGN, this Saturday (July 13, 1:05 p.m.), listen HERE or 720 AM.

Meet Cooper and get an autographed copy of her latest book on July 13, 3 p.m. at Chicago Party Animals, 1133 W. Fulton Market (following the radio show). This fun event is a benefit – which includes light snacks and a donation bar (the best kind of bar), a fund raiser for  Tree House Humane Society,

Here’s something cool,  Cooper’s presenting Sponsor, ARM & HAMMER® Ultra Last™Clumping Cat Litter, is donating  500 pounds of cat litter to each shelter and rescue group on the Cooper tour, including Tree House.  Thanks also to corporate partner Litter Genie ® System, who will be distributing a free Litter Genie ® System to each and every person who attends a tour event (while supplies last — so come early!).
