Is this Labrador Really a Pointer or Just Scared Stiff?

So what happens when a Labrador Retriever, named Maverick, sees black cat Halloween decorations? Is he scared stiff (literally) or pointing, as the breeder interviewed by CNN’s Jeanne Most suggests?
