Key and Peele Support Cat Adoption

To promote the new action-comedy, “Keanu,” Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele visited Tree House Humane Society in Chicago.  The duo helped promote cat adoption and lent their support to the organization’s efforts to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, abused, and abandoned cats. Key & Peele voiced an episode of the Real Tree House Cats of Chicago, which supports the campaign to fund creation of Tree House’s innovative, new facility – including Chicago’s first Cat Café, scheduled to open this Fall.

Tree House is constructing a state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly Adoption Center and Veterinary Clinic, which will be one of the premier, cat-centric shelter facilities in the country.  The new facility features increased natural daylight to improve cat welfare and human interactions; a residential feel for cats, aiding in socialization and stress reduction; diverse cat suites equipped with a variety of healthy stimulation options and calming, soft spaces; and outdoor “catios.”

In “Keanu,” in theatres April 29 (New Line Cinema), Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele star as Clarence and Rell are two cousins who live in the city but are far from streetwise. When Rell’s beloved kitten, Keanu, is catnapped, the hopelessly straight-laced pair must impersonate ruthless killers in order to infiltrate a street gang and retrieve the purloined feline.
