Since I filled in on WGN Radio just before Thanksgiving, we talked turkeys first, and from WKRP in Cincinnati “As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.” So, I asked Lincoln Park Zoo General Curator Dave Bernier first about turkeys and their ability to fly or not.

Listen HERE to our with ranging conversation, which included a round-up of recent zoo babies. And Bernier explains where to find the babies at the zoo.

Somehow, and we agree, that watching chimpanzees or gorillas is just different than watching any other animal at the zoo.

I did divulge that I sometimes video tape a great at the zoo using my phone – and sometimes play it back.

I mentioned Dr. Lester Fisher, legendary zoo director at Lincoln Park Park Zoo. Listen to my WGN radio podcast with Dr. Fisher from 2017.

25th Annual ZooLights Presented by ComEd and Invesco… Dave shared insight into what’s new for this year’s installment, and various special events being held to help you get into the holiday spirit. Can you imagine, 2.5 million lights shine at the zoo for ZooLights. There’s food, of course, as well as various other activities (which can vary from night to night).

How many Bolivian gray titi monkeys are in this image? First, these monkeys are real, not toy plush animals. And second – count the tails – there are three.
