Not only were there WAY too many dogs, these dogs in Sherrard, IL were clearly not taken care of, according to reports.
Karen A. Plambeck, 59, was arrested Friday, August 12 on three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, a Class 4 felony punishable by one to three years in prison.
Plambeck posted a bond of $25,000. This is reportedly her second offense. (Because she is a repeat offender, I suggest perhaps she should be in jail).
Numerous licensed pet rescues in the region and many other volunteers, shelters from around the country, are continuing to assist to help the dogs. Officials have call this “hoarding situation” the worst in Illinois history.
