Mutt Jackson and Montrose Dog Beach on WGN Radio

Anti Cruelty Society of Chicago with several partners have taken in  167 dogs and cats from flood and weather savaged Tulsa, Oklahoma. Listen HERE on my WGN Radio Steve Dale’s Pet World show to Collette Bradley of Anti Cruelty talk about how you may help, especially if you consider adoption or know someone who might. That’s an awful lot of pets needing lots of homes.

I also talk HERE with Chicago’s head mutt, Paul Fehrenbacher, aka Mutt Jackson.

At Mutt Jackson you can give your dogs a high-tech self-service dog wash, which includes blow drying. Most dogs seem to enjoy the process. And that is the perfect service for after a few hours at the dog beach for obvious reasons. And you can have your dog washed 10 times – if you buy the package – ten washes at at $10 apiece – a savings of $50 over the ten washes, and the package also benefits Chicago Canine Rescue and MonDog or Montrose Dog Beach (open daily 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and free, more close to Lawrence Ave. than Montrose).

Mutt Jackson is a place that also offers various special events, including Doga (yoga with dogs) every other Saturday morning, which benefits Chicago Canine Rescue and the maintenance of Montrose Dog Beach.

June 11 a.m. to 4 pm. – a dog wash-a-thon – which benefits Chicago Canine Rescue.

We did talk about how the rules about Chicago Dog Friendly Areas and dog beaches are today a bit antiquated in some ways.

Also, still seeking video of declawed cats just walking around for 10 to 15 seconds….We’re not here to judge, or maybe you adopted a declawed cat. This is for a presentation I will be making with Dr. Robin Downing at a couple of upcoming veterinary conferences.
