Dr. Michael Dryden

Veterinary parasitologist Dr. Michael Dryden, distinguished professor of Veterinary Parasitology, Department of Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology at Kansas State University says right now is when dogs are most susceptible to Lyme disease. Dryden is a guest on my national Steve Dale’s Pet World radio show.

Dryden goes agrees there is as an epidemic of tick disease.

What’s more, Lyme (just one example of a tick disease, and the most well known) is now occurring in more places across the country, and also more often. Lyme is even happening in urban parks, places where people might now expect. Dryden explains why all this is so.

The good news is that we can likely do a better job of protecting our dogs than protecting ourselves, if you use an appropriate veterinary suggested product. And where there is Lyme, Dryden explains why he is supportive of the Lyme vaccine.

By the way, if you allow your cat outdoors – Dryden explains how one tick disease in particular can impact cats, even kill them.
