Listen HERE to this howliday Steve Dale’s Pet World WGN Radio PETCAST:

Radio personality Lise Dominique is a huge animal lover, and walks the walk.  She tells the story of how she fell in love with Big Poppa, a senior citizen dog in need of a home, nearly toothless and then obese pup,  “He was such a mess,” says Lise. As she dealt with Big Poppa’s health issues, he was attacked by another dog, and is now missing an eye. But Lise and Big Poppa have a love affair, and she wanted to share the good word about rescue. So, created Big Poppa greeting cards. And the proceeds go to animal shelters. After all, Lise’s other dog is famous – the subject of the book “The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog.”

John Caruso Fine Art Pet Photography offers tons of helpful advise on what kind of pictures to of your pets on Christmas morning, or any time. He talks about some technical sort of ideas, but  first and foremost, let the pets be themselves. He says, “The goal isn’t so much to get a perfectly framed photo – it’s to capture your pet’s personality.”  He also talks about how, even with a telephone, you can take a great photo. And do some pets really actually truly not like to have their photos taken?

You can hear the stirring and dramatic rendition of my howliday poem – A PETS’ NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
