PetSmart Offering Free Dog Baths in Hurricane Florence Region
PetSmart is offering free dog baths to help pet parents who have animals affected by Hurricane Florence.
Now through Saturday, September 22, from noon until close, PetSmarts impacted communities will offer free basic bath to pets. Residents are encouraged to call the store ahead of time to book their pet’s bath appointment; mention the free bath offer when booking.
“Pets can get dirty during the chaos of a hurricane, but with everything pet families have to deal with following a storm, they may not be able to tend to their pet’s hygiene right away,” said Joanna Zucker, vice president of services at PetSmart. “By offering free baths, we hope to make things a little bit easier for pets and pet parents impacted by the storm.”
Also, if pets have been in flooded regions, they should be bathed to minimize the odds of disease transmission.
Pets must be current on their rabies vaccinations in order to receive their free bath. For more information, pet parents can call the local PetSmart store for details and availability.
Many pet food companies, PetSmart Charities and others are helping out, as are the national humane organizations.
