Survey and Celebration of Veterinary Technicians/Nurses
On the national Steve Dale’s Pet World radio show, celebrating veterinary technicians/nurses and what they do with Harold Davis, board president North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and Treasurer of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. Davis discusses a new survey which reflects how pet parents generally feel about veterinary technicians and nurses. It turns out most of those pet parents are unaware of the jobs that veterinary technicians/nurses do on a daily basis. And that certified, registered or licensed professionals are about equivalent (or arguably more than equivalent) to what human nurses do.
The survey also suggests the public does like and feels comfortable communicating with veterinary nurses/technicians.
NAVC has launched an initiative to support veterinary technicians and nurses, and to continue to educate pet parents regarding the significant role they play every day in veterinary medicine.
