Take Your Cat to the Vet Day

Take Your Cat to the Vet Day should be a national holiday.

Cats do not see veterinarians as often as they should. They don’t get sick, on average, any more or less than dogs, but dogs get more veterinary care. Cats are second-class citizens in this regard, but, if you look at the numbers, they’re actually “man’s best friend” because there are more pet cats in the U.S. than pet dogs.

We know exactly what the problems are, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) Cat Friendly Practices is doing something about it with a new community, of which you can become a part. And why wouldn’t you?

At catfriendly.com, the Cat Community aims to build a group of cat caregivers who want to provide the best care for their cats. Powered by feline veterinarians, the Cat Community provides you with credible, valuable, and reliable educational information. AAFP created this site so you can learn more about your cat’s natural behaviors, the importance of routine veterinary care, how to take great care of your cat, and answer many of your cat-related questions. Be sure to sign up for a free newsletter.

On this site, you can also find a certified Cat Friendly Practice.
