TNVR to Humanely Support Community Cats with Dr. Julie Levy

Dr. Julie Levy of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine is truly a legendary veterinarian. Most veterinarians know her name, and that’s because she’s authored and co-authored so many scientific papers, especially regarding cats, most especially shelter cats. She’s also a longtime proponent of trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) for feral or community cats, and that’s what I talk to her about on my national Steve Dale’s Pet World radio show. Levy explains what TNVR is exactly, and how it works.
We chat in some detail about why other alternatives to deal with community cats continues to not work.
We also talk about the reality is that community cats do eat some wildlife, including birds. But the truth isn’t what some allege. Also, cat even (in big cities) offer some value regarding pest (rat) control. Levy says, “Why make a choice?” She notes she loves both cats and birds.
