Listen HERE to this WGN Radio Steve Dale’s Pet World Petcast – a podcast for pet lovers. (may take a few moments to load)
The dog community is pulling together to help Stacey Hawk, a pioneer dog agility instructor as and founder of Wiggley Field, the dog park which made all other Chicago Dog Friendly Areas (DFA) possible.
Callie Cozzolino, a organizer for the Stacey Hawk Benefit, explains Stacey requires a sensitive surgery to remove and test for a mass behind her eye. Since her insurance won’t support her, friends and her students created the Stacey Hawk Surgical Fund, and are holding a fundraising party in her honor at the House of Blues (329 N. Dearborn St.), October 29 at 5 p.m.
Entertainment features blues rockers Steve Stone Band and will the Lauren Wolf Band.
Click HERE to learn more about the Stacey Hawk Benefit. Tickets are only $35 to help a friend who has spent a lifetime caring about dogs. Even if you don’t personally know Stacey, if you’ve ever used a Chicago DFA, please consider coming to this benefit I am truly honored to be the event’s emcee. Among the Chicago celebs attending, Miss Meowsky!
There are all other radio guests and then there is the one and only, Miss Meowsky, of Barker & Meowsky: Paw Firm. Miss Meowsky talks about hot Halloween costumes for pets, about Halloween safety, about a Halloween party for both kids and pets coming up in the DePaul neighborhood (at Halsted and Armitage), and she “meows.” What more can you ask?
In A Dog’s Heart is just a fabulous book with a great deal of heart – author, Jennifer Arnold calls in to talk about how dogs can manage to do what they do….and what motivates them to sometimes knowlingly save human lives. Jennifer has catapulted herself to the top of the dog world, and one of the most successful pet book others. Check out our conversation – always interesting!
Real People, Real Pets: I stop people on the street and ask them about what their pets will wear for Halloween.
