Jenny Tiner describes the cat café, which is set to open before year’s end in Bucktown on North Avenue. And, Poole is a supporter, too, and, before he heads off to Africa to work with big cats, he describes why he supports Tiner’s efforts with small cats. Poole is no doubt an internet star (or at least Cole and Marmalade are), and he offers his opinion about why cats are so popular online.
One thing we all love about cat cafés is that they facilitate adoptions, and Tiner will work with ALIVE Rescue to do just that, and also will support adoptions, mostly from Chicago Animal Care & Control.

Windy Cat Café & Lounge will:
- Be a tourist destination
- Offer educational opportunities (such as veterinarians talking about cat health, or experts speaking on raising bottle babies)
- Offer entertainment (like cat yoga, cat film festivals, cat comedy, etc.)
- Provide an adoption outlet

Come enjoy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, fun, a silent auction, raffles, and the chance to meet some of our special guests, Steve Dale and Cole and Marmalades daddy, Chris Poole!
On Friday night, we will have animal behavior expert, WGN talk show host, and blogger Steve Dale! Steve has been our biggest supporter. He has had me on WGN to talk all things cat café, he has written blogs for and about us… he’s helped promote us in so many ways. Come thank and/or pick the brain of the hero of the hour!
On Saturday night, we will have papa to Cole and Marmalade, Chris Poole! Yes, you read that right… Come meet the big cat rescuer, animal advocate and daddy to the inimitable Cole and Marmalade. Not only will he be there to hang with us, he’s bringing goodies that will be up for auction. Get your cameras ready!
