Hi Steve,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We would be happy to clarify this for you. It is important to note that this is not a recall our Mini Naturals. We are proactively and voluntarily removing our Zuke’s Mini Naturals products from shelves, including various online retailers, due to a quality issue. If your dog has been enjoying our Zuke’s Mini Naturals products, there is no reason to be concerned. While not a food safety issue, we took this proactive step with our retail customers and distributors because we want you to continue to have the best experience with our products. We are not asking pet parents to return the product. If you aren’t completely satisfied with your Zuke’s purchase, we are always happy to issue you a refund.

As you might have heard from your pet store, we are voluntarily removing all Zuke’s Mini Naturals (all recipes and all best by dates) from sale due to a quality issue.
Zuke’s Mini Naturals is a natural product, and we use a natural preservative to maintain product quality and freshness. We are aware of some instances where the natural preservative in our Zuke’s Mini Naturals may not be working as effective as it should, and the product may have an increased potential to develop a mold, common to foods, over time. While this mold should not present a health risk, we do believe treating should be a fun and positive experience so we took this proactive step with our retail and distributor partners to ensure you continue to have the best experience with our Zuke’s Mini Naturals products.
Zuke’s Mini Naturals training treats are sold at pet specialty stores and online retailers in U.S. and Canada. The product, which is packaged in a bright yellow pouch, is available in six recipes (Chicken, Peanut Butter & Oats, Duck, Salmon, Pork, Rabbit, Beef) and two sizes – 16-ounce and 6-ounce.
If your recent Zuke’s Mini Naturals purchase product does not meet your expectations or has become moldy, please dispose of it safely and contact us at 1-866-985-3364 and a member of our Pet Parent Relations team will process a refund.
Our team has resolved the issue and we are working to get Zuke’s Mini Naturals back in stock as soon as we possibly can. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, we encourage you to consider trying our other Zuke’s products such as Puppy Naturals, Hip Action or Lil’ Links.
