Sitting in a high chair, there I was on WGN radio with Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder.
The fun feline celebration comes to the Rosemont Convention, Rosemont, IL on July 21 and 22. With or without Bill I am giving the keynote address Saturday July 20, as I talk about “Cats: The Rodney Dangerfield of Pets.”
Included will be lots of cat videos, many hosted by Cole and Marmalade.
Lil Bub will be there with her “dude” and there will be meet and greets of this famous social media cat.
Also, there will be kitty yoga and cat BINGO. In the adoption lounge, cats available for adoption from Almost Home Foundation.
In addition, there will real education for people who care about cats. For example, one of the greatest Cubs fans on earth, Veterinary behaviorist Dr. Melissa Bain of the University of California, Davis will talk about meeting the environmental needs of cats. Other speakers will be supported by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).
I am also speaking about how to encourage cats to scratch in all the right places both how to use behavior modification and a new pheromone product called Feliscratch And I will participate in an event called “Love Letters to Cats.”
We do seriously talk about the executive director of Chicago Animal Care and Susan Russell and why she was fired. And I suggest it’s ridiculous because we now have amazing numbers, over a 90 percent live release rate into “no kill” territory. One alderman keeps repeating how we need to be a “no kill” city, but having no clue what that really means – because we’re there! Of course, we can do better. But without doubt Russell was doing her job. What’s the issue then? Russell and I talk here with John Williams on WGN Radio.
I suggest this is illegal, but I am no lawyer. I am knowledgeable enough to know that there is zero scientific evidence that a dog with a certain look commonly referred to as pit bulls are any more dangerous.
